We are in the verge of civilization colapse.

We need to fly high enough to have a global systemic perspective, we have to connect locally enough to feel the pain in our own bodies, we have to explore deep enough that we see the roots of the problems, we have look far enough that we are able to care for future generation and see our impacts in the longterm.

Regenaration

Why we need a regenarative approach? Sustainability is not enough. Even if we were happy with what we have as a system and were willing to sustain it, the first thing would be to agree on what is it exactly that we are trying to sustain.

Every organism is trying to keep its health, in my understanding that means several things.

  1. Membranes: it means that the membranes that make it a whole are kept at an appropriate level of permeability, that it would allow the desired sub holons to enter and keep the undesirable ones out of the system. In order to preserve that whole. Also to create the hollarchic substructures and to relate appropriately with the different hollarchic scales of with the system is part of.
  2. Flows: it means that it needs to keep the information flows (energy, matter and information). Becoming aware of the systemic relationships and interactions between the different parts of the system both internally and with the outside.
  3. Values: it has to keep score of the important values for the system. Being oxigen level, Hidrogen Potential, amount of money in the bank account, happiness of its members, or whatever is connected to the purpose of the system.
  4. Evolutionary Purpose: according to the sensing of the specific values relevant and prioritized by the organism the purpose will adapt and evolve.

How can we evolve and Collaborate in this regeneration? I believe we are trapped in a set of beliefs (narrative) that are stoping us from achieving the desired outcomes. Mainly there are two abstract concepts that we have to transcend: separation, the objectivity of a material that small groups of people are an important tool we need to cocreate this new narrative.

CoLaboratory. The importance of experimentation.

Sustainable living. The art of Simplicity, living lightly is an act of aesthetics not ascetism. Promote human, community and planetary health.

Living together.

Living in nature

People are so disconnected from nature that all the statistics of climate change, biodiversity loss, massive extinction, etc… are just abstract data to which they feel completely unrelated. Being immerse in nature for a few days can restore this connection and reactivate this numbness.

The timing.

We are living in the fast, inmediate, «I want it now» culture. We need to slow down if we want to have a fast change. That is why slow and long conversations are needed. Some people call me for lectures and they want to learn about the whole principles of the universe in a few hours. Peope do not dedicate enough time to listen to each other, to themselves, or to nature. That is why we are proposing a minimum of two weeks for participating in this CoLaboratory. The optimum time is at least a whole moon cycle, 28 days (two full weeks). This space will allow for the conversations to slowly build up and for emergence of new ideas, not just exchanging what I know but letting things that nobody in the group ever thought to arise from the collective intelligence. We are creating a space for reconnection with the cycles of nature. Also the group needs a process of arriving, adapting, growing, celebrating and preparing for departures.

Precedents and learnings

We created the European Week for the Art of Collaboration (theartofco) in 2016 in San Sebastian (Spain). A gathering with over 500 attendees for 10 days in which we had long 20hours workshops an a full week with dozens of lectures, meetings and short workshops related with all kinds of methodologies for Collaboration in all scales from person to person communication and group dynamics, to global partnerships and networks. It was a extremely enriching experience from where we extracted many learnings. One of them was that people found the most value in the long informal conversations, which most people evaluated to be not long enough. During the week there was a lot of very interesting content to temp us, that is why we decided to create a space empty of structural content, a space without teachers and students, a space where together we could fine the proper rhythm and content flow.

We hosted more than 750 volunteers over the past 16 years in our community. We learnt with them to live a simple life, grow our food, produce our energy, manage our water, construct our shelters, etc… We relate to the nature around us a living organism, the ecosystem is an important member of our community

We believe that learning to live in materially simple way and an inmaterial complex web of realationships is the key for the transformation of our civilization.

Art of Hosting Facilitation

We
We have plenty of experience in the hosting group to hold the space in a organic but caring way. We will use many social technologies like openspace, worldcafe, graphic facilitation, circle way, forum, process work, systemic constellations, dragon dreaming.

The Collaboratory

A space for compassionate learning, unlearning, and collective sense-making. A place for healing and transformation.

This space is not about doing but about being. we live in a non-linear complex world, we need to find a path forward but we are not looking for easy answers. A space for listening to our inner selves, to truly open our minds and hearts to each other and to feel the feedback of the earth.

A cultural shift of what does it mean to be human, what is our role for the future generations.

If it’s not fun it’s not sustainable. We are going to focus on making the most pleasurable experience posible both intelectual, emotional, physical and spiritual.
